dhb Earnley shorts

Had purchased these dhb Earnley cycling shorts from Wiggle online store with the intention of using them for my preparation for my Ironman race. I wanted to buy a cheap pair of shorts because money was tight, but also I knew that the cheaper pair of cycling shorts usually come with less padding or substandard padding.

Now, I didn’t mind that for one reason, the tri-suit that I was wearing for my Ironman race didn’t have all singing all dancing padding in it. So, I wanted to start getting used to shorts that had less padding around the crotch to simply get use to that feeling, in preparation for when I put my trisuit on come Ironman race day.

Now, these shorts that turned up were great, better than great, for what you are buying you get a better pair of cycling shorts. There was alot more better padding around the crotch and they were very well made. Not what I was looking for , however I got a great pair of shorts for an absolute bargin…Result.
Cheers Wiggle.
Ironman race still went well and came 3rd in my age group.

How long do a pair of Brooks T6 Racers last?

August 21, 2009

I’ve had my fantastic Brooks T6 Racers for about 3 weeks now and have seen significant performance improvements running in them. They’re extremely light, comfortable and fast and I’d recommend them to anyone looking for a great racing shoe. However, the red rubber on the forefoot of the sole is already coming away (see pics) [...]

Why I changed from Asics Stratus to Asics Cumulus Running Trainers

August 10, 2009

Coming from the occupational background that I do, there are two things I understand regarding running shoes. Firstly, the right shoe is the most important bit of equipment a runner will ever have. Secondly, as any runner will testify; this is an incredibly individual and subject specific thing. Personally, I have always worn [...]

99% of Triathletes I know use a sports watch to help monitor their training and competition performance, and many use one with a heart rate monitor. But, there’s a multitude of leading brands and models to choose from.
I already own a Garmin 305, which I mainly use for running as it has a built in [...]

The allure of a fancy pair of fashionable sunglasses is hard to resist and let’s face it there are some amazing looking sunglasses on the market. But I can’t begin to tell you how many pairs of expensive sunglasses I’ve lost, broken or sat on! So when I dropped into my local bike shop and [...]

Even with the beneficial cross-training effects of training for Triathlons your muscles still get sore and tighten, particularly during the hard weeks of training and after competition. I’ve found that the piece of kit I use the most is my Trigger Point roller – the ‘TP Quadballer’.  It looks a bit like a rolling pin [...]

Brooks T6 Racing shoes – An instant PB on debut run!

August 4, 2009

I’ve heard it said that the more expensive running shoes are not necessarily the best. Until now, I was sceptical as most of my favourite running shoes have all been £70 plus. Yesterday, I went to a small and well know running shop in the South West to find a pair of lightweight running [...]
