TriGear aims to provide unbiased editorials (e.g. reviews, features, news etc) - the reviews are our independent opinion and are written from an impartial point of view by our team who are passionate about TriGear. However, we wish to disclose that (i) we receive free products from marketers (brands, PR agencies etc) that we sometimes review or discuss in our editorials on www.trigear.co.uk, and (ii) we may carry affiliate links concerning these products or the companies that sell them where we make affiliate marketing commissions when the link is clicked and a transaction is made such as when you buy a product or sign-up for a service, and iii) we may run advertisements on www.trigear.co.uk concerning some of those products or companies that sell them (and other products sold by such companies) for which we sometimes receive compensation.
We clearly mark at the bottom of each review that has an affiliate link with – ‘*’ affiliate link. – and we state when a company has provided us with a product/s for review. If not stated, then we have bought the product ourselves as part of our day to day Triathlon kit.
When we have written a product review we then add affiliate links/banners for the product/s in the review article, where relevant – we also state at the bottom of the review if the link is an affiliate link and state if the company have provided the product for review. We clearly mark if any link in the review article is an affiliate link with an ‘ * ‘ in the link. Links without the ‘ * ‘ are not affiliate links. We make money from these links marked - ‘*’ affiliate link – when the link is clicked and a transaction is made such as when you buy a product or sign-up for a service.
We also make affiliate marketing commissions when a banner ad is clicked and a transaction is made such as when you buy a product or sign-up for a service.
To offer a more comprehensive range of products we sell a number of products ourselves and are also a participant in the Amazon EU Associates Programme, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.co.uk plus we link to other selected affiliate merchant shopping partners such as www.chainreactioncycles.com, www.wiggle.com, www.activinstinct.com and more.
Information about Affiliate Marketing and how it works
Some advertisers and retailers pay websites to put their ads on their pages – as with newspapers or TV. Some only pay the website when their link is clicked and a transaction is made, such as when you buy a product or sign-up for a service. This is known as affiliate marketing or online performance marketing.
This type of advertising can take many forms and the links can appear in different formats. One way is via ‘banner ads’ that you see throughout the Internet and on www.trigear.co.uk. If a visitor then clicks on the ad and buys something, www.trigear.co.uk will be rewarded with a small commission, typically a percentage of the sale amount or a fixed sum, for instance when a service is purchased.
Not all performance marketing ads use banners. The same kind of link can be included in text. For instance, when a product or service is mentioned on www.trigear.co.uk it may contain a simple link to it. This text link to the product or service works in exactly the same way as the link in the banner ad, and we earn commission in the same way.
